// In short

Do you need a migration or a rebuild?

Choose a migration when your WordPress site is fine but the host, domain or server needs to change. Choose a rebuild when you are on Wix, Squarespace or another builder and want to own your site on WordPress. If your WordPress site only looks dated, a Website Redesign fits better. MD Shamim Mahmud moves and rebuilds websites with a full backup, a URL map and 301 redirects to protect search traffic.

// Who it’s for

When it’s time to move

Most moves start with one of these. Each has a different risk, and each is planned before anything changes.

  • Your host is slow or unreliable

    Pages load slowly, the site goes down or support doesn’t help.

  • You’re changing domain

    A rebrand or a better domain, without losing the traffic from the old one.

  • You’ve outgrown Wix or Squarespace

    You want more SEO control, more features and a site you actually own.

  • Your site was built badly

    A fragile build that breaks on updates and needs a clean rebuild.

// What’s included

A move that protects your traffic

Every migration or rebuild includes these. New hosting and paid plugin costs are listed separately.

  • Full inventory

    Every page, post, form, image and URL listed before work starts.

  • Full backup

    A complete backup of the current site that you keep.

  • Staging copy

    The moved or rebuilt site checked on staging before the switch.

  • URL map

    Old URLs matched to new ones, page by page.

  • 301 redirects

    Permanent redirects so visitors and Google reach the right pages.

  • DNS, email & SSL

    Domain records moved without breaking your email, plus SSL.

  • Search Console update

    Sitemap submitted and, for domain changes, the change of address tool.

  • After-move checks

    Forms, links, speed and indexing checked after the switch.

// How a move works

From old site to new home

Moves go wrong when they’re rushed. Each step is checked before the next, and the old site stays untouched until the new one is confirmed.

// How it works

From plan to switch-over

You approve the plan and the staging copy. The live switch happens only when you’re ready.

  1. Review

    Where the site is now, where it’s going and what must not break.

  2. Plan & quote

    Inventory, URL plan, switch date and a written quote.

    Before work starts
  3. Move or rebuild

    During the project
  4. Check on staging

    You review the site before it goes live.

    Before the switch
  5. Switch & monitor

    DNS switched, redirects tested and Search Console watched.

// FAQ

Migration questions

What owners ask before moving or rebuilding a website.

Still have a question? Ask me directly

How much does a website migration cost?

Moving a WordPress site to a new host or domain starts from $79, and rebuilding a Wix or Squarespace site on WordPress (up to 10 pages) from $599 (USD), about 30% below what comparable freelancers typically charge. Stores and large sites are quoted after a free call.

How do payments work?

You pay 50% to start and 50% after the switch, once the site is live and working. Every payment comes with an invoice and a receipt.

Will I lose my Google rankings?

The move is planned to protect them: every URL is mapped and 301 redirects are set up for anything that changes. Rankings can move for a short time after any migration, so I don’t promise they stay identical.

Will my site go down?

The new site is prepared on staging first, and the switch is planned for a quiet time. Short DNS changeover periods are normal, but the old site stays up until the new one is confirmed.

Can you move a Wix site to WordPress automatically?

Not fully. Wix and Squarespace don’t export complete sites, so pages are rebuilt in WordPress and the content is moved across. That’s also a chance to improve the layout.

Will my email keep working?

Yes, if the domain records are moved correctly. Email records are copied before the switch and tested afterwards.

Can you move a WooCommerce store?

Yes. Products, orders and customers can be moved, but stores are quoted separately because of payments and order data.

How long does it take?

A WordPress move often takes 1–3 days; a rebuild of up to 10 pages usually takes a couple of weeks. The timeline is in your proposal.
